Welcome to the Real Alberta!

So this is the official Launch…

A few weeks ago I started thinking it would be a great idea to start a blog, and document all of my adventures and misadventures in the outdoors of Alberta. I didn’t know what it would look like or when exactly it would happen but figured it would be a good way to keep track of things, have a bit of fun and hopefully give some people the inspiration to get out there and enjoy the outdoors as I do with my closest friends.

Things happened pretty quickly once I started talking to my core group and as their excitement and support built, so did my desire to make this happen. So on the weekend I got my buddy Ryan to help me with all the technical mumbo-jumbo and we got some things going.

So here it is, my outdoor adventure blog. Expect to see anything and everything you can do outdoors in Alberta.  If you don’t see something you enjoy or want to make a suggestion then please feel free to e-mail me with your ideas. I’m hoping to do a lot of trips around the province this coming summer so I should be able to cover the bases on tons of activities and topics.

Currently we’re all getting pumped to go fishing. I recently got a new fly rod for my birthday and cannot wait to try it out. With any luck the ice will melt a bit faster and we can get out onto the waterways ASAP. Until then I’m going to be attempting to tie some flies and maybe even upload a video or that, although I’m sure it will be a total mess! On that note feel free to check us out on YouTube, as we now have a channel there. I just uploaded a video from about 6 years ago that should garner some laughs and some comments. To get regular updates subscribe to both, and don’t forget to let me know what you want see!

See you out there,

  1. Inteesting stuff: A bad day’s fishing can be better than a good day of playing videogames or watching TV. Good for the mind, good for the soul. maybe not always not so great for the fish though. One minute you’re moving along doing your thing. You spy what looks like a tasty morsel & end up with a big fricken hook in your gob before being hoisted into an alien environments & beaten to unconsciousness. ‘ *,There’s worse ways to go I imagine. Cool site Tom. I’ll keep checking back. Kudos on the oar. That’s a labour of love.amadeo
